What class do I start with?

For those with no previous Iyengar Yoga experience, we strongly suggest starting at Level 1
Preparation for the class

- Clothing – comfortable clothing. It should not be too tight: it should allow them to move freely. Nor should it be too loose so that the body is visible to facilitate corrections.
- Food – we recommend not consuming food 2-3 hours before class. For the morning classes, you can eat something light or have tea or coffee an hour before class.
- Menstruation – women should inform if they are menstruating to indicate some alternative postures, as there are some postures that should not be practiced during menstruation.
- Pregnancy – It is not recommended to start this practice when you get pregnant, if you have never practiced Yoga before. If you are a student and you become pregnant, check with your teacher if it is advisable to continue participating in regular classes.
